The ACMI is the professional organisation for midwives in Australia. It consists of a National office located in Canberra and branches in the capital cities of each State or Territory.

The College provides opportunities for education and continuing development through a range of measures and acts as a lobbyist on behalf of members. By participating in these activities you can work towards improving the status of midwives and the practice of midwifery.

The Bonnie Babes Foundation is a non government funded, non-profit, volunteer based charity which provides:

• 24 hour, 7 day per week counselling for families that have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or prematurity.
• Provides medical equipment to hospitals for premature babies.
• Vital medical research projects into pregnancy loss and complications after birth.
• Provides support for infertility issues, children born with abnormalities and childhood illnesses.

The Foundation also provides education and training for health professionals.
 

The Mater was established in 1906 by the Sisters of Mercy. In 2002, Mater Health Services became an incorporated body, charged with the responsibility to continue the Mission of the Sisters of Mercy to “offer compassionate service to the sick and needy”.

The National SIDS Council of Australia, trading as SIDS and Kids, is a high-profile and well-respected not-for-profit organisation that boasts an enviable history of success. It comprises a National Office based in Melbourne with the National Research and Programs Unit largely based in Canberra, and nine Member Organisations (MOs) based in the Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, Hunter Region of NSW, ACT Region, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

The Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) is a multidisciplinary society dedicated to improving the health and long term outcomes for mothers and their babies. Perinatal is derived from the Greek term "peri-" meaning "around or about" and "natal" from the Latin term "natus" meaning "born" or birth. PSANZ encompasses and strongly encourages research focussed on mothers and babies during pregnancy and at birth as well as the health of the newborn as its development continues after birth.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is dedicated to maintaining the highest possible standards in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.
The primary role of the RANZCOG is to train and accredit doctors throughout Australia and New Zealand in the specialities of obstetrics and gynaecology so that they are capable - professionally and psychologically - of providing the highest quality health care for women.

For more than two decades SANDS has provided sensitive support to parents and families who experience reproductive loss.
SANDS Organisations across Australia:

• Encourage support for families through recognition of their diverse experiences of loss.

Sands New Zealand is a network of parent-run, non-profit groups supporting families who have experienced the death of a baby. We have over 25 groups/contact people around the country. All of the people involved in Sands give their time and energy voluntarily - we are not a government funded organisation. Most of our members/supporters are also bereaved parents. We offer empathy and understanding. We are not counsellors and do not give professional advice but we do offer an opportunity and environment to share experiences, to talk and to listen. We promote awareness, understanding and support for those dealing with the death of a baby in pregnancy, birth or as a newborn, and due to medical termination or other forms of reproductive loss.
